Describe the assignments you want to take on

Tell us what you do, who you help and what a useful first enquiry looks like. For a packaging designer, that might mean preparing production artwork from an existing brand identity. For an editor, it could mean reviewing a draft report. These are examples of how to describe work, not offers from listed professionals.

Include remote or in-person working arrangements, relevant locations or languages if you want them published. There is no need to invent fixed prices or claim that you are available immediately.

Start with your existing introduction

A website, professional profile or a few lines about your work are enough to begin. Add a portfolio link if it helps explain the assignment, but a finished portfolio is not required for a basic listing. Leave out confidential client details and share project material only when you have permission.

We may follow up if something needs clarification. The email or messenger contact used for that conversation stays private unless you separately choose and approve it for customers.

Review your public profile before it goes live

Preparing and publishing your Mercator business listing is free. We propose the exact description and public contact arrangement for you to correct or approve. You do not need a Mercator account.

Once approved, your profile can be read without signing in and shared through its public link. Choose a business email, website or supported contact link so prospective clients know how to approach you. Discuss the assignment, fees and timing with them directly.

Keep your work and contact details current

Reply to your existing Mercator conversation to request a correction, pause or removal. You decide which assignments to accept. A listing does not confirm availability or guarantee enquiries, clients or search rankings.
